We respect and value our wider community, its people and environment.  We are inclusive to all groups in our community and support parents as partners in their children’s learning.

The information you shared is extremely valuable to the school and all of the comments have been collated and shared with the staff and Governing Body. 

We are delighted with the overwhelmingly positive response and it’s clear that as a group you think your children are happy, well taught and making good progress at Belmont. 

55 parents responded in 2026, split roughly evenly between the Infant and Junior schools, with a smaller group of parents with children in both. 94.5% said they would recommend Belmont to another parent. 

Key points:

• Belmont remains a highly regarded school: 94.5% of parents in 2026 said they would recommend the school to another parent, essentially unchanged from 95.4% in 2025.

• Core measures of pupil wellbeing — happiness, safety, clubs and personal development — all remained strong and stable.  

• Parents reported improved confidence in the school's expectations of their child (+7.4 points), the range of subjects on offer (+5.4 points), and pupil behaviour (+4.8 points). 

• 2026 response volume: 55 parents, down from 108 in 2025 — treat 2026 percentages as somewhat less stable statistically. 

• Recommend Belmont: 95.4% (2025) → 94.5% (2026) — stable and high. 

• Biggest gains vs 2025: high expectations (+7.4pts), subject range (+5.4pts), pupil behaviour (+4.8pts). 

• Biggest declines vs 2025: curriculum awareness (-8.1pts), concerns handling (-7.7pts), SEND support ( 6.3pts), bullying response (-4.1pts). 

What parents love 

The 'love best' comments were dominated by people, not programmes. 19 of 43 comments praised staff and teachers directly — their care, passion and willingness to go the extra mile, several noting this despite a difficult funding environment — and 14 highlighted the sense of community and belonging. “The staff are amazing and really do their best under the circumstances. What we can work on

• The clearest trend is a decline in parent-facing communication and responsiveness. 

• Awareness of what children will learn, the handling of raised concerns, and SEND support all fell noticeably, and communication is by far the most frequently mentioned improvement area in parents' free-text comments in both years.
